Subaru produces 4 millionth vehicle! The small brand has taken America by storm with year over year sale growth and greater demand for the standard AWD Subaru is known for. Now Subaru’s Indiana plant– the automakers only plant outside of Japan– has produced its 4 millionth Subaru since production began 30 thirty years ago.

“This is an incredible milestone for our associates and our company,” said Scott Brand, senior vice president at SIA. “We’ve come a long way since building our first Subaru vehicle more than 30 years ago.”

This 4 millionth vehicle is a silver 2019 Subaru Outback that rolled off assembly this past Monday at 10:51 pm. The plant in Indiana is tasked with producing the Ascent, Impreza, Legacy, and Outback Subaru vehicles in North America. Due to increase in demand for Subaru models, the plant has increased annual output from 67,000 vehicles to approximately 370,000.

“Our 5,700 associates are directly responsible for the quality that Subaru customers have come to expect,” said Brand. “Their commitment continues to drive our success.”

The Indiana Subaru plant expects to begin production of the all-new 2020 Legacy and the all-new 2020 Outback at the end of July. Learn more in the official press release. For more Subaru news, follow Wilde Subaru on Twitter or Like us on Facebook.
