Does my Subaru retain value?

Does my Subaru retain value?

By | Subaru Cars, Subaru News | No Comments

Wondering “does my Subaru retain value”? Choosing to buy a car is a big and often times important investment and you want to choose a car that will give you the best bang for your buck. Part of that is finding a car that retains value, meaning that is depreciates at a slower rate than most cars in the category. That means you will more than likely get a higher trade-in cost, when that time comes.

To help car shoppers determine their best fit, the editors at Edmunds have compiled the 2019 Best Retained Value Awards, which project resale value after five years of ownership. Subaru won in multiple categories:

Edmunds Editors write about the Impreza: On snowy and icy roads, vehicles with traction-enhancing all-wheel drive are invaluable. But what if you don’t want to get an SUV? Check out the 2019 Subaru Impreza. Not only is it the least expensive all-wheel-drive vehicle on the market, but it’s also the only compact sedan to offer AWD — and it’s standard.

Edmunds Editors share about the Subaru WRX: Come rain or shine — or even snow — the 2019 Subaru WRX and WRX STI deliver speedy acceleration and engaging handling. These compact sport sedans aren’t as quiet or refined as their competitors, but you won’t find sport sedans with more power and all-wheel drive for less money.

The Subaru Crosstek is: “a jack of all trades. Like a lot of other similarly priced cars or crossover SUVs, it has a roomy interior for both people and cargo, a smooth ride quality, and a long list of available advanced safety features. But it’s also equipped with standard all-wheel drive and a raised suspension that provides 8.7 inches of ground clearance. These features make the Crosstrek more capable in poor weather and on off-road trails.”

The Subaru Forester is honored as a buyer's choice

The Subaru Forester is honored as a buyer’s choice

By | Subaru Cars, Subaru News | No Comments

The Subaru Forester is honored as a buyer’s choice. Recently, AutoWeb revealed its list of buyer’s choice award winners, determined not by automotive journalists, but by tabulating the data of the vehicles that savvy car shoppers request pricing quotes for most frequently. This data takes into account more than 120 million consumers who visited their websites over a twelve-month period. AutoWeb then determined winners in three broad categories that include 17 smaller market segments.

Autoweb writes about the Subaru Forester: “The Subaru Forester has always won fans for its hardy all-wheel drive system and spacious interior. Newly redesigned for the 2019 model year, it has captured our Best Midsize SUV award. It marries the model’s traditional ruggedness and interior volume with modern refinement, updated infotainment, superior fuel economy, and more standard safety features. Not surprisingly, such a combination is winning plenty of fans.”

The 2019 Subaru Forester has been fully redesigned inside and out and features standard accident-reducing safety features like EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology[3] and Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive. Extensive interior upgrades include more premium materials, increased passenger space, and improved on-board technology — including the all-new DriverFocus[4] Distraction Mitigation system, available for the first time ever and only on the 2019 Forester.

Subaru has the most IIHS Top Safety Picks for 2019

Subaru has the most IIHS Top Safety Picks for 2019

By | Subaru Cars, Subaru News | No Comments

Subaru has the most IIHS Top Safety Picks for 2019! For 2019, the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety awarded Subaru with more TOP SAFETY PICK + awards than any other brand with seven models  (the 2019 Ascent, Crosstrek, Impreza (sedan and 5-door), Legacy, Outback and WRX) all earning the TOP SAFETY PICK + distinction when equipped with EyeSight Driver Assist Technology and LED Steering Responsive Headlights. The 2019 Forester also earned the TOP SAFETY PICK award and all models received a ‘Superior’ rating in front crash prevention when equipped with EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology.

“Each year we continue to improve and innovate the safety features in our vehicles for our customers,” said Thomas J. Doll, President and Chief Operating Officer, Subaru of America, Inc. “For the Subaru brand to lead the IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ awards with seven winners reflects our commitment to making safety the top priority in our vehicles.”

Out of 30 vehicles that qualified, the Subaru brand had the most TOP SAFETY PICK + awards. In order to earn this distinction, a vehicle must receive a rating of ‘Good’ for six tests of high-speed front and side crash tests, a rollover test, evaluation of seat/neck restraints for protection against injuries caused by rear impact, as well as earning ‘Advanced’ or ‘Superior’ in front crash prevention and a ‘Good’ headlight rating. This year’s ratings are more stringent than in previous years and marks the sixth time the test has been updated to reflect newer safety standards since the awards launched in 2006.

“We challenged manufacturers to provide the best possible protection in a range of crash scenarios and equip vehicles with automatic emergency braking system to avoid crashes, as well as offer headlights that give drivers confidence when traveling at night,” says IIHS-HLDI President David Harkey. “Fifteen brands hit all the marks to give consumers shopping for a new car a wide variety of 2019 models to consider.” For more Wilde Subaru news, deals, and specials, follow Wilde Subaru on Twitter or Like us on Facebook.

Subaru Not Planning To Release New WRX Until 2020

Subaru Not Planning To Release New WRX Until 2020

By | Subaru Cars, Subaru News | No Comments

Subaru Not Planning To Release New WRX Until 2020! Speaking to Australia’s Motoring, a senior engineer at Subaru stopped rumors suspecting the new WRX in 2018 saying, “The WRX will have a facelift soon, not a full model cycle, because the new model just launched in 2015. The full model cycle will be about four or five years, and that’s when you’ll see a full model.”

The current 2017 WRX is a great sports vehicle that can outrace a Porsche and a McLaren, so it makes sense that Subaru wants to hold off on a full update for a few years. Apparently though, the main thing holding an update back is the time it takes to develop a new model, “You can’t shorten that production cycle. There’s many things to consider such as durability testing and likewise. It’s not as simple as taking the turbo engine out of one car and presto, off you go.”

Subaru is working to get the WRX ready for the new global platform, but 2018 will be a facelift only. For more dealership specials and deals, follow Wilde Subaru on Twitter or Like us on Facebook.

2016 Subaru Outback in Milwaukee

The Subaru Outback, Crosstrek and WRX/STI Enjoy Record Sales

By | Subaru Cars, Subaru News | No Comments

The Subaru Outback has led Subaru to record June sales, shooting up an incredible 23.0% over last June’s sales to a total 13,417 units sold. The Subaru WRX/STI sales were up to 3,130 units sold an increase of 44.5% over last June and the Subaru Crosstrek enjoyed total sales of 7,658 units sold an increase of 8.5% over last June. This was the best June record for the Outback, WRX/STI and the Crosstrek. The Subaru Legacy also enjoyed an 11.0% increase over last June with 5,023 units sold.

Thomas J. Doll, President and COO of Subaru of America, said about the record sales, “We are very pleased to have set another half-year record and to have reached our 55th consecutive month of yearly month-over-month sales increases. With increased availability of Legacy and Outback models over the next six months of the year, we can expect that our sales will increase even more in the second half of 2016.”

Last month marked the 28th month in a row that Subaru sales hit 40,000 vehicles, with June totals coming in at 46,598 units sold. For the first half of the year, Subaru has sold 279,458 vehicles in the US, a 2.6% increase over the same period of time for last year.

The Subaru WRX Outraces McLaren and Porsche

The Subaru WRX Outraces McLaren and Porsche

By | Subaru Cars, Subaru News | No Comments

Subaru proved itself last weekend at the 2016 Goodwood Festival of Speed when Olly Clark’s Subaru WRX beat a McLaren P1 LM. Olly Clark, son of famed racer Roger Clark, is backed by his technician brother Matt Clark  and had this to say after their amazing win last year, “It was a huge honour just to be asked to attend, but to actually compete and win against such incredible cars and such truly awesome drivers doesn’t feel real! I owe everything to my brother and our hard-working team the tireless work they have put into the car. It really makes a difference as a driver knowing that the machine around you is perfect in every way.”  The car, titled “Gobstobber II“, is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four cylinder engine that produces 860 bhp. The winning time came in at 46.29 seconds and marks the second consecutive year that Clark has won this title.

This comes with disheartening news that an attempted Guinness world record for longest parade of Subaru vehicles came up short by less than 30 cars in Birch Bay, Washington. The attempt took place on June 5th with the count coming in at 522 vehicles. Many of those who registered didn’t show up despite the $10 registration fee and $5 fee per passenger which helped pay for permitting and security, while others showed up too late.

Subaru Outback Named in Best Family Cars of 2016

By | Subaru Cars, Subaru News | No Comments

Parents magazine in conjunction with Edmunds.com has released their list for “Best Family Cars of 2016” and the Subaru Outback has won in the “Best Wagon” category. Parent’s Magazine writes about the 2016 Subaru Outback, “Wagons may seem out of fashion, but this one offers key advantages over most crossovers, from its excellent handling in ice and snow to its top fuel economy to its lower step-in height. All-wheel drive and 8.7 inches of ground clearance make the Outback game for every type of family adventure. And it feels deluxe, with a rear-vision camera, a tilt/ telescoping steering wheel, and vacation-ready roof rails. Opt for the 2.5i Limited version ($30,395) for a package that includes blind-spot detection, a rear cross-traffic alert, pre-collision braking, and adaptive cruise control—not to mention rear climate control and reclining heated rear seats that keep your kids happy.”

Rankings were based on factors including quality of ride; safety; comfort and capacity; fuel efficiency; kid-friendly features; price and value; reliability; interior and exterior workmanship; visibility, controls and instrumentation; and attributes such as appearance, ergonomics and special design features that set the cars apart.

Subaru Finally Producing Levorg Wagon

By | Subaru Cars, Subaru News | No Comments

Subaru recently released a teaser video hinting at the almost ready STi version of the Levorg wagon. The video highlighted the car’s front LED headlamps and STi badge on the grille revealing that the Levorg will launch in Japan this summer. So far there is no mention on the availability of this vehicle in other markets; however, a more official announcement will probably come over the next few weeks. This performance wagon was first previewed as the Levorg S Concept last year at the Tokyo Auto Salon, with a different grille, redesigned side skirts, front fender air vents, and new front and rear bumpers. Although not much is known about the engineering, we can assume it will be all-wheel drive and will feature an similar engine to the Japanese WRX STI sedan.
